It was never going to be easy. The evidence was stacked against her. She would’ve been a test case, if we even made it to court. Not only that, the other side would no doubt hire the best attorney and throw as much money at it as they needed to make it all go away. And they did.

She had no money and even though I convinced the firm to take on her case on a pro-bono basis, agreed to only work on her file after-hours, it was futile.

One of the ugly truths in this profession is that sometimes, cases aren’t won on principles; they’re won on resources.
