It saddens me to see how under-appreciated our existence as humans has become by some people. Actually, it angers me.

Like trained dogs, some of us just do as we’re told. No questions asked. No reasoning whatsoever. Rather than analyzing the information received and reasoning its validity for themselves, some people would much rather take someone else’s “word” for it. Along with it, taking that someone else’s (faulty) premises, (invalid) conclusions, biases, and quite possibly, fallacious reasoning.

Should is a strong word, but I feel as though we as humans with rational minds, should know better than to become victims of someone else’s influence and manipulations; especially when we have our own reason to believe otherwise. Our ability to rationalize is unique to us, yet some of us still choose not to appreciate it and live our lives in the shadows of someone else’s shine. Why? Is it easier? Less work?

Zig Ziglar said;

Life is too short to spend your precious time trying to convince a person who wants to live in gloom and doom otherwise. Give lifting that person your best shot, but don’t hang around long enough for his or her bad attitude to pull you down. Instead, surround yourself with optimistic people.”

I’m not about trying to change minds or opinions. I’m about pursuing and providing knowledge, for my understanding, for a greater understanding. I’m about details and evidence. Not he said/she said nonsense.

If you haven’t read the whole story, how can you draw conclusions about it?

Don’t be lazy. Think for yourself.
