Attention to detail can be a double edged sword, a term which a young friend says I use often.

It’s a legitimate reminder though, not of moderation, but of the harms associated with extremes.

The sword of honesty; one edge is too honest, the other is not honest enough. Yet both maintain potential to cause some serious damage.

The sword of passion; one edge is addiction and obsession, the other edge is lack lustre, complacency. Equally hazardous states for progress.

It’s not about moderation, it’s about balance. Balancing the dark and the light, the good and the bad and remaining neutral through both extremes.

Joy and sorrow are inseparable. . . together they come and when one sits alone with you . . remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.” – Kahlil Gibran

Wield your weapon wisely.
